- Medium-sized bowl
- Whisk to mix
- A small container for your preparation
Ingredients and proportions:
- 2 teaspoons of Shea Butter
- 2 teaspoons of Coconut oil
- 2 teaspoons of jojoba oil
- A few drops of vanilla extract
Easy peasy steps to follow:
Take two teaspoons of Shea Butter and drop them into your bowl. Add the two tablespoons of coconut oil in the same container. Mix and gently melt the Shea Butter and coconut oil for easier incorporation.
Once the mixture is even, add the teaspoons of jojoba oil.
To flavor your recipe, add a few drops of vanilla extract.
Transfer your preparation to a small, resealable container.
To harden your recipe, put it in the fridge for 24 hours or 30 minutes in the freezer if you are in a hurry to use it.
Once your recipe has solidified, take a small amount of the preparation and apply to your lips. Repeat as many times as necessary in the day.
To boost the effectiveness of your homemade lip balm, scrub your lips before applying the preparation. Exfoliating one’s lips helps to get rid of dead skin before moving on to hydration. You can find our homemade lip scrub recipe here.
