Do you want a soft skin with a luminous complexion?  Exfoliation is essential for this. Day after day the skin regenerates, cells die and are replaced by new ones. However, without exfoliation, the dead cells remain on the surface and the skin becomes dull.

There are two types of exfoliation. The mechanical method: this is done with grains or gum products such as scrubs or exfoliating gels, … The chemical method is done by applying a peeling.

What is the difference between these two methods?

Mechanical exfoliation by scrubbing

Cells are removed by gentle circular massages. The rubbing of the grains helps to remove the impurities from the skin and make it smoother.

For oily to normal skin, it is recommended to perform this process once or twice a week. Be careful, if done too frequently, it could damage the skin’s hydrolipidic film and lead to a disruption of sebum production. For dry skin, it is preferable to do it once a two-week period in order not to weaken the skin.

Chemical exfoliation by peeling

The action of the chemical product removes the dead cells. It eliminates the upper layer of the epidermis to make the skin appear clearer, without marks or spots.

Deep peeling should be performed by specialists and dermatologists. However, there are softer peelings that can be done at home. Depending on the level of peeling, be sure to consult the directions for use and follow the recommended frequency. For people with sensitive skin or who are suffering from skin problems, eczema, etc., it is better to avoid peeling.
