According to the World Health Organization, we walk an average of 7 kilometers a day, and our feet feel it! Discover today why and how to take care of them, with a few tips.

Why take care of your feet?

Often neglected, this area of our body deserves the utmost care, because we use it all day long! These limbs support our entire body, and absorb all the shocks caused when we’re on the move.

If some care is not taken, physical phenomena can quickly appear: horns, rough skin, corns… A feeling of discomfort sets in.

In the most extreme cases, dryness can cause cracks and fissures. Instead of making us move forward, our feet then become real burdens…

Today, Institut Karité Paris presents four tips for healthy, glowing feet. And with the return of good weather, who doesn’t want to show them off?

Follow the steps!

Scrub

Once or twice a week, exfoliate dry feet before your shower or bath, then rinse with lukewarm water. Exfoliation will remove all dead skin and other impurities.

You can use a body scrub, or one dedicated to the foot area. It is also possible to make your own homemade scrub, following our Shea Butter Gentle Scrub recipe.

Foot Bath

If you don’t know this trick yet, you will soon become a fan! Beyond a treatment, the foot bath is a true ritual of wellness. After a long day, it allows you to give a little softness to your feet, but also to purify them.

Thus, in warm water, add two to three tablespoons of sea salt, as well as a few drops of lavender and tea tree essential oils, with purifying and cleansing virtues. Let your feet soak for about 15 minutes, then dry them with a towel.

Hydration

Once your feet are perfectly dry, it is time to give them the comfort they deserve! Every day, apply our Shea Foot Cream. Its creamy and concentrated formula will provide your feet with all the moisture and suppleness they need. Shea Butter, a natural active ingredient known for its multiple benefits, repairs, nourishes and moisturizes intensely. It therefore meets the essential needs of all skin types, including the driest. This concentrated treatment durably softens dry and damaged feet.

Massage

For a last little attention, think of the massage! With your Foot Cream, or by using vegetable oils, this small gesture will help to release muscular tensions, for a prolonged moment of wellness.

You are now ready to show off your beautiful feet to the world this summer!
