Every day we make mistakes that damage our skin in the long-term.

Discover the habits to banish in order to have a healthy skin!

Washing your face in the shower with hot water

Sometimes, due to a lack of time, we optimise our time in the shower by washing our face. Warm water dilates the vessels and pores of our skin and increases sebum production, especially for combination to oily skin. If you wish to rinse your face after removing make-up and cleansing, prefer cold water which tightens the pores and stimulates blood circulation.

Touching your face

Throughout the day we touch our face and often without realizing it. As a result, the bacteria on our hands go to our face and stimulate the appearance of pimples…

Using wipes to remove make-up

It is true that wipes are very convenient, especially when travelling, but used daily they attack our skin. Indeed, they often have an exfoliating and “stripping” action due to their composition. Prefer a gentle make-up remover such as our Micellar Water which gently cleanses the skin.

Popping pimples

We have all made the mistake of popping an unsightly button that appeared during the night to make it disappear quickly. You may have noticed that it did not change the situation and that, on the contrary, it came back during the day. In fact, popping a pimple will recreate the inflammation and can in the long-term, leave scars. So be patient until it disappears.

Do not remove make-up

Throughout the day, the skin accumulates toxins: make-up, pollution, dust, tobacco and bacteria. At the end of the day, our skin is asphyxiated. When you skip make-up removal, you do not allow your skin to get rid of all this. The consequences of this omission? Redness or even desquamation, imperfections, a dull complexion, more marked wrinkles and fine lines, aged skin.

Forget about night care

While we sleep, our skin regenerates, cells are renewed and the epidermis repairs itself. So after the make-up removal and skin cleansing step, apply a suitable night cream. Opt for our Shea Moisturizing Night Cream or our Shea Anti-Aging Night Cream to wake up with a fresh and radiant complexion!

Washing your face with soap

The “classic” soap has a higher pH than our skin (10 against 5.5), which disrupts its natural acidity. In addition, soap has a stripping and drying action on our skin. Washing with soap destroys the protective barrier of our skin and makes it fragile. The result? The skin becomes more sensitive, dehydrated and ages faster! Opt for a soap with a neutral pH, which is close to the one of our skin, or a soap-free cleanser specially designed for the face.

Do not exfoliate your skin

Because you do not always have time to exfoliate your skin, but it is an essential step in your beauty routine. When you exfoliate your skin, it removes dead cells and activates cell regeneration, refines skin texture and tightens pores.

Be careful not to exfoliate your skin too much either, as this can have the opposite effect. Exfoliate your skin once or twice a week maximum with a product adapted to your skin type.

Forgetting to wear an SPF when exposed to the sun

We usually think that through the clouds they will not be able to reach our skin, but this idea is completely false. UV rays (UVA and UVB) are present all year round and everywhere, even in the city. They are responsible for premature ageing of the skin, the appearance of spots and in the most serious cases of cancer. Therefore, it is important to protect your skin from the sun in summer and winter as soon as you go out, even for a short time.
