Why should you take care of your hands?

Hands are the most solicited parts of our body. They are directly exposed to irritants such as cold, heat, washing, hydro-alcoholic gel, etc. They weaken the skin’s natural barrier and lead to dryness.

Hand’s skin has a different structure than other parts of the body, it contains few sebaceous glands. These glands are responsible for the production of sebum on the surface of our skin, for its hydration and for retaining moisture. As a result of their weak presence, hands skin dries out easier.

What are the signs of dry hands?

In light cases of dryness, the hands may be sensitive and slightly red. In more intense cases, they may feel rougher, inflamed and cracked.

Some factors can increase these sensations such as UV rays, stress, some diseases or the aging process of the skin.

How to take care of your hands?

First of all, when washing your hands, use mild water and preferably a gentle, moisturising soap. Once washed, dry them carefully by tapping on the skin, it is preferable not to rub them to avoid damaging your skin.
